Busy Life
I get it. We are busy with things like making money, getting ahead, relaxing with entertainment, helping loved ones, maintenance, and other ambitions. That doesn't make us evil. But what if the Bible is really true? Well, of course you say it's true, but just saying it - is not at all what I mean.
Aren’t you curious?
If the Bible really is what it claims to be, there is nothing else on earth like it. Not even close.
$50,000 a Year from the Government
I think to myself, what if the government published a $10 book and said after reading the book, you can take a test, and if you pass that test, they will gladly pay you $50,000 every year for ten years? If you fail, you get nothing, but you can take the test as many times as you want for free.
By the way, you hear that many people are passing the test and getting the money.
I know I would buy the book and take the test. If I failed, I would keep taking it until I passed, or until I decided it was impossible to pass.
Imagine the Creator of everything that exists instructing us through portions of this book, the Bible. Is it really just a fantasy? Can we really believe the Bible is revealing things about God like His thoughts, His motives, His plans, His behavior? Not fake news. Is it true what we can read records of God’s first-hand interaction and reactions to individuals, nations and mankind? I’d be curious.
Campaign to Make You an Unbeliever
What if there was an active campaign to convince citizens it was all fake? Rumors that the test was impossible, and you never get the money. Or what if people said the Bible was a fairy tale?
Would you be curious enough to try anyway because, well you don’t trust everyone and the rewards are too great to walk away?
Would you try to find people who were getting paid that $50,000 a year?
What if that $10 government book had some difficult parts that seemed like contradictions? Hmm. That might be important to understand in order to pass the test. Wouldn’t you study harder to make sure you understood it, and keep trying?
Not One Test and One Reward
With the Bible, “passing the test” is rewarded with promised fruits like love, joy, peace, patience. Imagine if every church in the world was filled with people that loved each other, had real joy, and amazing patience. You know more people would believe the Bible if they saw thousands, or hundreds or thousands of believers like that.
If this Bible stuff is really true, Bible-reading would not be a low priority.
Can you see how believing it is true would multiply your curiosity?
For me, it was not a one-time passing of a test, and then a one-time reward. I could not become the godly man I wanted to be and I certainly didn’t just go to heaven.
It was eventual, small-time fulfillments that over years became more predictable and building my hope in God’s advice.
Do you see how your curiosity would just have to experiment? Curiosity to see if all this power and transformation could actually be real.
Belief Feeds Curiosity
Aren’t you curious if God, through the Word, would really give you guidance on how to live the way we were created to live, starting today? Not as a new Christian but as a transforming person.
Not light, occasional reading and some church attendance, but a core surge of curiosity like “I have to know.”
These are all claims in the Bible. They are true or false. If you really believed it is true, your curiosity would increase one-hundredfold. Your curiosity would certainly lead to determination to absolutely understand these destiny-changing realities.
However, if you don’t believe it, why should you be even a little curious?
Evolution Nearly Ended My Curiosity
For me, I almost walked away from Christianity forever because it appeared that evolution was already a proven fact. The whole world declaring scientific evolution.
If evolution is really true, then the Bible is false.
If Genesis is really true, then evolution can’t be true.
Truth ALWAYS reveals itself, and I had to know.
If someone out there would make a comment just so I can see if the comments are working, I’d appreciate it. I can if folks can interact too.
Plus, I’m sure I’d like hearing from you if you think the devotional is too long, too short, or you would like to hear more _____.
Wishing you a great week. God bless.

As a Research Scientist, I can relate to the quest for truth and the importance of thorough investigation. Just as I conduct experiments to uncover scientific truths, I will approach the Bible with the same level of curiosity and determination to discover the profound truths it holds.
Thank you for writing this article and for reigniting my curiosity and passion for God's Word. 🙏🔬📖
