The Human Spirit vs Animal Instinct
I have cared for many animals: cats, dogs, goats, horses, turtles, fish, spiders, owl, lizard, iguana, and more. They have some great instincts that seem amazing.
In contrast, man invents hospitals, medicines, libraries, art, communications, transportation, clocks, charities, inventions and systems. No animals display such qualities, nor do they aspire to.
Like animals, man has physical limitations, but the boundaries of achievement for humans makes us like aliens on this planet.
Clearly, there is no animal species that will invent weapons and continually improve them to a level of mass destruction. Nor will a single species of animal create good will missions to protect endangered species or animal victims after a huge forest fire. They are nothing like us.
Humans in Earth Suits
Man has a unique need for understanding the universe and origins. An animal wants food, comfort and safety but builds neither churches, weapons, or infrastructures with electricity, plumbing, and extra comfort. Humans, wearing physical earth suits, have deep spiritual needs and problems.
There are no wars between orangutangs with different religions. We are the conquerors who overwhelmingly dominate the planet with cities and technology. We are on par with animals only in the physical sense, like compatible software in the same operating system.
There is a range of intelligence among humans. There is also a range of intelligence in the animal kingdom. However, if you graph the range of achievement of animals compared to man . . . again, we are not a little smarter, but completely in another class.
Animal Biology Exceeds Man Intelligence
The capacity of a mind is not measured in weight or size, but output ability. We have established the vast chasm between animal and human performance, but there is a greater gap between human technology and nature’s technology.
How can we measure human intelligence against the infinite unknown of all that exists in the material world of molecules? Nature’s technology has functioning inventions like atoms, cells, plants, the universal realm of laws, weather, gravity, instincts, reproduction, DNA and life itself. Excluding our earth’s orbit in space, seasons, temperature, and what we have yet to discover . . . what percent of what we see do we understand? Far less than 1%.
Who Can Build What?
We cannot. Nature can.
We build machines, not living things. Nature does.
As we behold the huge chasm of intelligence between animal and humans is huge, it is tiny compared to the chasm between human intelligence and the intelligence displayed in nature.
Is a Mouse Smarter than Human Scientists?
Evolution wavers between crediting chance or a creature with evolutionary adaption for these marvels. Either way, neither a mouse nor chance can ponder awesome strategies for survival and then transform these new ideas into a permanent DNA change for future generations. Humans cannot perform such molecular marvels, and neither can a mouse.
Seeing God without Faith
Most of my readers know this magnificent intelligence is God. However, to avoid religion altogether and focusing entirely on the credibility of this simple logic, I offer an easy-to-remember formula with three factors below.
Animal Technology = AT
Human Technology = HT
Nature Technology = NT
The formula is: AT < HT < NT
Animal ability is exceedingly less than human technology, but human technology is severely less sophisticated than nature’s power, scope, details, interdependence, genius, biology, and man’s spirit.
Conclusion
I would ask your logical approval of the formula: AT < HT < NT
In light of just the life and systems of nature on earth, it is ridiculous to claim that man is the supreme intelligence.
To propose a theory that credits chance or animals for designing what is far superior to man’s ability . . . is truly not a sign of intelligence.
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20
Witnessing nature, space, animals, seasons, life . . . it makes me worship.
Animal Tech < Man’s Tech < Nature’s Tech
