“Unending Faithfulness” soft pastel by Myra Alibrando
You Exist, but How?
There is no science fiction that matches the non-fiction of us and the world we live in. How am I here? and How is my world here?
That may sound like a simple question a child might ask but just give it a minute to sink in. You are here. You are reading this. You have all these things to do today, this year, next year but 100 years ago, that was no such thing AS YOU, and pretty much that will be true 100 years from now, at least to earthlings here.
And the world, how did all this get here?
You Rule Trillions of Servants
Why wish to be king of 100 million citizens when you are already lord of more than 37 trillion cells serving you 24/7? That is 370,000 times 100 million. Every cell has a 6-foot strand of your unique DNA all working together for your health and function as their sole purpose for existence. Fact check me on this.
Nobody human is claiming credit for this ridiculously fantastic engineering. These cell units are each alive. These cell units die, but when you die, they all die. These cell units reproduce. These cell units communicate. Why? These cell units do so much for every part of you as you are reading this. Eye cells, brain cells, memory cells, nerve cells, and muscle cells to move your head, your finger, your chair, and blink your eyelids. Do you realize 37 trillion is 4,625 times the population of the earth’s 8 billion people?
Biomimicry
“Imitation is the highest form of flattery” and biomimicry is the industry of trying to learn from, imitate/mimic ideas in nature. Hovering between $300-$500 million invested a year proves nature is way ahead of man’s ability.
This Plus That Plus This Plus That
Your heart is beating, your brain is plugged into literally every part of your body with intelligent responses you usually don't know about. You are breathing air which, unlike Mars, has just the right mixture. The oxygen is also vital to your cells carried by your blood.
Mind Ability Gaps
You must understand although man’s mind is incomparably greater to animal minds who have no libraries, no medical facilities, no theater, orchestras, art galleries, or new inventions … God made the mind of man. Great job, God. But with our superior intellect studying nature; we see God’s incomparably mind greater than man. The technology is too advanced to copy, no matter how hard we try. We say we understand photosynthesis, but we can’t make it. So, we don’t understand it well enough to duplicate. In fact, of every living thing on earth, we cannot build a single one of them, not even one living cell.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14
Genius Requires No Intelligence?
So the “scientific” response to nature’s genius is that to make it requires no intelligence. Huh? This is not only counterintuitive, it really goes the opposite direction of any logic. That isn’t fascinating, that is genuinely counter-science because it is the opposite of all we observe . . . everywhere. Evolution is seen everywhere in our technology (intelligent design) but natural genetic change not being displayed in any science labs now or ever.
Inventing Pregnancy and Fetal Development
Please, when you are done reading this, think about this: You are here. How is that possible? Pregnancy is not what I mean. You! No man takes credit for inventing humans. But here we are, together. We are contemporaries (living at the same time)., looking for purpose, better days, answers, and wondering sometimes how we can help others.
How am I here? This is no Movie
Forgive me for saying I can't find the words but seriously, I cannot grasp the reality of my life and world even though I experience both every day.
Will I figure this out? Never. I can't grasp infinity, life, consciousness, death, or even smart phones. These are all real.
But I think it would be a pitiful crime to shrug my shoulders like it doesn’t matter. I pray that this reality of outrageous power, genius, beauty, and beholding our lives and life everywhere is not too great to give up curiosity.
Did someone greater than man provide all of it or something far dumber than any creature: mindless mistakes, accidents, explosions, and luck? Choose your faith since no one on earth saw it happen. Faith in accidents or faith in wise power?
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrews 11:3
Intentional work with weather, seasons, and life that all fits together.
How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number—living things both large and small. Psalm 104:24-25
For Myra Alibrando:
Myra, I am deeply moved by your painting "Unending Faithfulness." The vivid play of colors draws me into a serene landscape that radiates peace and vitality. The delicate blending of soft pastels captures the essence of a bright morning sun rising above the misty mountains, symbolizing hope and renewal. The gradients of blues and greens create a stunning contrast with the vibrant reds and oranges of the field below, portraying a lively meadow teeming with flowers.
I can sense the patience and grace in each stroke, which reflects the title perfectly, a testament to enduring faithfulness, both of nature’s cycles and the human spirit. The way the sunlight gently kisses the fields speaks of warmth and continuity, reminding me that beauty often arises from simplicity and consistency. The composition invites viewers like me to pause and reflect, offering a moment of peace and introspection.
Your art breathes life into the canvas and conveys a sense of unwavering serenity that will undoubtedly inspire many. Please continue to share your gift with the world, as each piece is a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us.
“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” Edgar Degas. Keep painting the world with your light, Myra.
Hi Doc Andrei! Thank U for your encouraging comments. I started painting after a surgery. I guess my soul and spirit desired it after watching a video of a painter in YouTube. I told to myself that I can do it too and it might help me recover fast. That was December 2021 before Christmas. So I told Sam that I want painting supplies for Christmas which I received. True enough I recovered fast and painted painting after paintings. I gave some away to friends who likes it. I am very encouraged by how U elaborately understand and explain my paintings. Not just to look at it, but to feel what I feel while doing it. Thanks again! 😄😄😄👍👍👍
