Like God, We Are Creative
Made in God's image, we are powerfully creative, not only with art, music, writing and inventions, but business entrepreneurship and new ways of arguing for and presenting the truth.
There are many hard-to-destroy lies in our culture today, and they seem to stand strong. However, they stand on 2 legs and if you are discerning, you will see the truth stands on 3 legs and from the right angles, lies can be knocked down, no matter how many people disagree with you. This takes courage, but also some creative thinking.
Christians-The Alternate Culture
all of us, God knows deep down we crave His love, we crave forgiveness, we crave wanting to be true heroes of doing what is right and that will always require courage. This, we must bring to the world - Light. At the very least, our loved ones. How can we bring something new and different if we don’t think creatively?
Jesus in Trouble with Authority-Why?
Christians often associate compliance with holiness. Instead of courageously seeing when the scripture disagrees with a sermon, or teachings that ignore huge portions of the Bible, we generally comply. We submit to authority. Understand, we quote scriptures about peace or submitting to authority but ignore many other scriptures. We are “nice” which may be cowardly sometimes.
I am not advocating rebellion any more than I would present Barabbas as a better example than Jesus. But remember, Jesus got in plenty of trouble with authority. Jesus is our model. Jesus believed and still believes the Word is the truth. The truth will make us free, so I would conclude Jesus behavior also reflects the whole Word of God.
No One Gets A’s for Arguing
At least the past 200 years worldwide, education is considered passive memorization. Memorization is wrongly synonymous with learning. It is only a small part. Discipleship and training are words more synonymous with learning.
We go to school for 12 or 16 years to basically listen, memorize, then test how much we memorized. No one gets A's for arguing, for thinking, for questioning, or improving what was taught. We all get A's for reciting back what we are fed. We enter society as Christians with the same mindset of participating as compliant students, but with pay.
We know the world is filled with lies presented as truth. That being said, how can we prepare youth, or ourselves, to confidently give answers for our values, philosophy, and faith if we haven’t wrestled with the options?
We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5
Real Education Empowers
Education is from the Latin e’duco meaning to lead out. Sanctify means set apart. Kind of similar.
Just like God has no grandchildren, we cannot delegate seeking Him to religious leaders while we do something else.
Adults usually surrender creativity for "practicality" unconsciously giving up so much joy and power in life that flows from creativity and courage.
In this short life, I hope you might gift back to yourself . . . creative risk.
Obeying God is Achievable
Is God practical? I think He knows better than us and that is why I agree with the Word saying do not fear, be courageous, be bold, be anxious for nothing. It is all possible.
Am I afraid, anxious, fearful, worried? All of the above, but I do not accept them as guides, I fight them with the Word.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6,7
I hope I have encouraged you or at least planted a seed.
Have a wonderful week.
I wholeheartedly agree with everything you have shared in your message. Your insights on creativity, courage, and standing up for the truth are truly inspiring. Thank you for reminding us that, like God, we are made to be creative and to think outside the box. Your words have encouraged me to be bolder in my faith and to not be afraid to question and seek out the truth.
I have been facing a situation where I have been hesitant to speak up about my beliefs among my friends. After reading your message, I have decided to take a stand and confidently share my faith, even if it may not be popular. I will trust in God's guidance and be courageous in speaking the truth.
